First baseman Miguel Cabrera blasted 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the
Tombstone Huckleberries outscored the SSB SSB Tar Heels 8 to 5.
Cabrera was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He delivered a solo blast in the 1st inning,
slapped a single in the 3rd inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 7th
inning. SSB had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The win went to John Lannan(11-5) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Brian
Fuentes earned the save, his 2nd. Jeremy Guthrie(5-11) absorbed the loss.
He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings of work.
With this win, Tombstone has a 49-44 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With
the loss SSB now has a record of 34-59.
